Herzo coaches: trust is the most important thing

Herzo coaches: trust is the most important thing

It is a difficult age for young people. You've turned twelve or thirteen, maybe things aren't going so well at school, your parents don't understand you. But hanging out with your buddies is no solution either. So what should be done? Especially since the school years will soon be over and important decisions have to be made for the future.

This is where the so-called "herzo coaches" come in. Following the example of other cities, adults take the initiative and declare their willingness to accompany the young people on this difficult road to puberty. "They strong self-confidence and develop the strong of young people", says a flyer about the tasks. And they keep young people "in line during difficult phases". Important: "it's not tutoring", as co-initiator anna-cornelia scharboch explains in a press interview.

Gottwald merl and johann strigl are two of these herzo coaches of the first hour. The project in herzogenaurach has been running for a year now, and now the preparation period for the second school year begins. Last october, they each took on a student from the seventh grade of middle school. The two men, aged 63 and 60, want to walk the path together with their students until they have found an apprenticeship or made the transition from school to work.

Family minister giffey: educators should earn as much as elementary school teachers

family minister giffey: educators should earn as much as elementary school teachers

This should be raised to the level of elementary school teachers, suggested the SPD politician in the "bild am sonntag" ahead of. "Daycare centers are educational institutions, she said. "And from my point of view, educators, including those who work full-time in after-school care, deserve to be paid in the same way as teachers who work in elementary schools, for example."

After all, it's about people "who work in education and lay the foundation for the future of our children and thus for the future of the federal republic", argued giffey. In addition, a training allowance for future educators would lead to more young people choosing this profession, she said. When asked who should pay for all this, the SPD politician replied: "it's up to everyone, the federal government and the states."

What do bus drivers, nurses and educators actually earn??

Old oak tree to remain despite new kindergarten building in poxdorf

Roland schmitt from architects schmitt/vogels (bamberg) was present at the meeting. He explained the modified design for the new construction of a blessing hall in front of the parking lot at the rear end of the cemetery. The wishes of the council, expressed in a previous meeting, were taken into account here: the blessing area with lighting from above and with a covered forecourt has been enlarged. It can be separated from the rest of the building, so that it will be possible to hold small funeral services in the closed blessing hall. There will be one men’s restroom and one for ladies and for the disabled. The containers for the disposal of refuse are located in a corridor between the storage area for the coffins and coffin refrigeration adjacent to the blessing hall and the toilet building. There was a clear difference of opinion on this among the rates. However, since deviating solution proposals proved to be impractical, the present design was accepted by a vote of 9:4.

Wooden or solid construction

Then there was still the question of wood or solid construction and the appearance of the eaves facade (wood, copper, shingles, plaster) to clarify. The council decided by a large majority to build the church with the so-called solid wood wall, with plastered ceilings and wood finish inside the chantry hall. If the project is completed quickly, everything could be ready in may 2021. The cost estimate for the building is 595.000 euro. Architect roland schmitt promised to present a proposal for the new building at the municipal council meeting on 28. More detailed cost calculations to be provided in january.

Two floors

Architect norbert siewertsen (baiersdorf) presented his design for the new building of the poxdorf daycare center for children. This two-storey building is to be built on the school’s hard court, which is no longer in use, near the weidichstrabe/schoolstrabe bend. The main entrance and the parking spaces are planned on the north side of the building, on the schulstrabe. On the first floor, facing south and west, there are three group rooms for the kindergarten children, each with its own adjoining room and toilet; furthermore, there is a play hall with adjoining kitchen and dining area, the director’s room, technical and storage rooms, toilets, a multi-purpose room and, in the entrance area, a staircase and elevator to the upper floor. The two daycare rooms, each with its own sanitary facilities, as well as a play hall, a staff room, a parents’ room, toilets and storage rooms are located there – again on the sunny south and west sides. A rough roof garden of about 135 square meters could still be added if desired. Architect siewertsen has planned flat roofs for the whole building, but the center of the building could also be covered with a gable roof.

Half-time on the daycare construction site in lonnerstadt

Half-time on the daycare construction site in lonnerstadt

The small beds are already fully booked. As of january, 13 children are registered for each of the two nursery groups. Since the need is there, even an additional place (to the normal occupancy with twelve children) has been approved, said lonnerstadt’s pastor andreas sauer during the inspection.

The new nursery building on goethestrabe adjoins the existing kindergarten building and is entered through the common entrance. The new building was ready for occupancy just over a week ago. According to the deputy head of the daycare center, nadine dorfler-hein, a total of 21 little "fuchses" are currently being cared for and "washable supervised. From the new year on all places are occupied.

In the modern annexe there are two bright, well-equipped group rooms, plus a rest room and a sanitary room for the little ones. The small furniture, the mini toilets, the cupboard and the play corners are cute. The outdoor facilities, which can be accessed from the group rooms, are also almost complete.

Foundation times literally in the deanery coburg

Foundation times literally in the deanery coburg

It rattles in the box. Anke kroll is just throwing in a whole bunch of old pens. The kulis, felt pens and markers do not write anymore, but are still good for something. They become money to provide schooling for 200 syrian girls in a refugee camp in lebanon.
The box is a collection box for a campaign that starts from the women’s world prayer day (wgt). The german committee of the WGT cooperates nationwide with the company BIC, which donates one cent per pen for the school project.
"Everyone has a few old pens somewhere in a drawer or something. He just has to donate them instead of throwing them in the mull. Then he will be doing something good" says anke kroll. She wants to collect as many discarded pens as possible for the coburg protestant deanery.
Anyone can join in and go on the hunt for old donations. But of course it makes sense to join forces. Companies could, for example, launch an appeal among their employees, school classes or church congregations could go on a collection tour for old pens together. Anyone who is convinced that they can collect a good 15 kilos of pens can register themselves as a collection point. It’s easy to do at [email protected]
In schools or companies, you could set up a collection box and label it accordingly, advises anke kroll. But of course such actions have to be coordinated with the company or the school management.

Self-shipping from 15 kilos

A free return label for the shipment can be requested online. Pack the pens neatly, stick a label on them and send them off. The package will go directly to BIC. It should not be sent to the WGT-committee, because then it had to be brought from there to the donation partner on the way. By the way, there is no sticker with which the shipping would be free of charge. The WGT team emphasizes that the package must weigh more than 15 kilos, otherwise it will not be included in the evaluation. If everything fits, one pencil is calculated for every ten grams and the project is automatically credited with one cent. Because each package brings in at least 15 euros, and one of the girls can be equipped with school materials for 4.50 euros, the nationwide WGT campaign should be able to finance the school project in the medium term, as anke kroll calculates.
In june there will be an interim report on what has been received so far. It should also be an incentive to buy again. At the end of 2018, because that’s how long the campaign will run, it will become clear what can be achieved with the discarded pens from german drawers.

This may go in, which is not

It is allowed to hand in ballpoint pens, gel rollers, markers, felt-tip pens, mechanical pencils, correcting agents (also tippex bottles), fullers and cartridges, also metal pens.
Not allowed not accepted are erasers, glue sticks, linieale, pencils, crayons printer cartridges and scissors.

Teachers in homeschooling

Teachers in homeschooling

Peter stanzel’s school day starts at 7 a.M.30 o’clock. Start up computer, prepare files and spreadsheets. The 33-year-old class teacher of the middle school in bad neustadt sits in his office in euerdorf, his personal teacher’s room at the same time. Where exactly his school of 8. He can only guess at the class in bad neustadt, 30 kilometers away.

Since the end of the christmas vacations, distance learning has been the order of the day. In times of homeschooling, he is digitally connected to them. "I can see who of my 23 students is logged into our digital classroom. But whether they are sitting at a desk or lying in bed, I don’t see it!"

When the virtual hand calls

At 7.45 o’clock stanzel goes online – for the morning round with his students. They are connected to him through MS teams. This is a platform developed by microsoft that combines chats, meetings, notes and attachments. Classes start at 8 a.M. Stanzel’s pupils are present by name on the user list on his screen. When someone wants to say something, he speaks up. A hand symbol indicates this. "We have agreed that the video function should remain switched off, otherwise the connection is not always stable, says the young teacher.

Discussing the proposal without polemics

The women’s list takes a stand on the letter to the editor by herbert kaiser (FT from 13. April, page 12). In it, kaiser addressed the women’s list demanding a change of name for the gottfried neukam middle school.
The women’s list refers to the "unhappy career" gottfried neukams in the third reich. "This can be read by anyone interested, among other places in the kronach city archives, in the coburg state archives and in the local newspapers of the time." Here are three examples: "1. Neukam was made an honorary councillor in 1939 because he had proved himself in a special way as a national socialist in the service of adolf hitler (kronacher rundschau 4.11.1939); 2. He was a demanding member of the SS – albeit with a small amount of money (coburg state archives); 3. What he later concealed: also thanks to a scholarship from a judic foundation, he became a well-known kronach artist ("volk-heimat-dorf" – ideology and reality in the rural area of the 1930s and 1940s)."
It is not understandable why there is such a strong resistance against changing the name of the school. To respond to herbert kaiser’s letter to the editor: "such a vehemently expressed misogynistic insult is unworthy of a former school principal."
That the dead must remain untouched does not apply to public figures. Otherwise, according to angela degen-madaus, there could be no historical research. As factual and free of polemics as the application of the women’s list was put, so should be the answer to the naming of the foundation. It goes without saying that the school concerned, with its management, staff, parents and school community, must also be heard. Freedom of speech is protected in germany – and this is not only a matter of course in a democracy, but also a prerequisite for the functioning of our constitutional state.

Zeil looked back on its eventful history

Zeil looked back on its eventful history

Whoever celebrates a birthday invites guests to join them. This is what the city of zeil did with its festive evening to kick off the historical festival weekend on friday evening. Many guests of honor and above all those who have helped to shape and support the jubilee year in zeil and will continue to do so until new year’s eve were welcomed by mayor thomas stadelmann and moderator eberhard schellenberger in the rudolf winkler house. Even minister-president markus soder congratulated by video message. Mayor petr klouda from rymarov, the former roman city in the czech republic, the twin city of zeil, was on site.

The chamber orchestra zeil under the baton of oliver kunkel and with the only 17-year-old jameel wilmore on the flugel, who was very impressive, provided a splendid setting. To the music the photo club showed collages of pictures, which made the whole beauty of zeil visible.

Five historical figures marked the beginning and the end of the festive evening: abbot alberich degen, who brought the silvaner grape to franconia, pastor karl link, who called the zeiler kappele "french lourdes the burghers of zeil, elisabetha hofmann, who once established a poor foundation, master stonemason melchior kurtz, who was described as one of the oldest immigrants and was to stand for zeil’s power of integration, and burgermeister johann langhans; his diary documents the time of the witch craze, to which he himself ultimately fell victim.

Groundbreaking ceremony for the wilhelmsthal school

Groundbreaking ceremony for the Wilhelmsthal school

Hand in hand, just before eleven o'clock, a good three dozen kindergarten children march along hesselbacher strabe. They want to be there – for the groundbreaking ceremony for the school they will one day attend.

The district administrator is also coming. Shortly afterwards, a government car pulls up, klemens M. Brosig, the head of the schools division of the government of upper franconia, drops out. School board member uwe dorfer, principal ulrich weib, several town council members and another three dozen or so citizens are already there. At eleven o'clock sharp, mayor wolfgang fortsch (CSU) arrives to give a speech. "An important work must be tackled with courage and confidence", he says and adds: "a work that presents the municipality of wilhelmsthal with a great challenge in a very, very difficult time." Among other things, he points to declining birth rates and says: "the citizens of our community must accept sacrifice and renunciation for this work." At the same time, however, school is the "gateway for children to enter the world.

The groundbreaking ceremony is an important and important day for wilhelmsthal, says county administrator oswald marr: "after a long discussion process, it was decided that the school would be built. I hope that we will now pull together and make the best of it", admonishes the head of the district.
