Snaps for good traders

The flea market of the generations on the castle square, which has been organized by the seniors’ advisory council of the city of coburg for several years now, was also a great success last sunday. As administrator peter schubert from the social office of the city of coburg remarked, the 150 places were already booked out weeks in advance. So if you want to be there next year, don’t hesitate.

A real fan community has already emerged for this small version of a flea market. Many of the hobby traders prefer to go to this small flea market. It’s less stressful than going to the flea market.

The stands are already defined in advance, and one can devote oneself to the construction in the early morning hours from 7 a.M. Onwards in a very relaxed manner. The focus of the rough flea market in the spring had shifted in recent years more and more into the night hours from saturday to sunday, and that does not please all people.

This is also the opinion of pia schwesinger, her daughter ines and her friend darja wandrei. They even have a giant teddy bear at their stand, the kind you can win at fairgrounds. There are certainly some emotional memories connected with it.

And yet they will still part with this stuffed animal. For seven euros a new owner can now cuddle with it.

Gisela bechmann lets herself drift through the flea market without any firm intention to buy. But with the many clothing stands she already wants to risk a glance.

"Christmas is almost here again", thought kurt and elke kroker, both are also regular flea market traders. They have a small corner with christmas articles on their stand. There a space-saving christmas combination impresses: a swing arch from the erzgebirge, and the base is a christmas crib. This is ideal for otherwise cramped living conditions.

"We are almost sold out", on the other hand there is a stand of the seniors’ council. The special eye-catchers and attractions have found their buyers, but the cash register has already become considerably fuller. The amount is to be donated to a project of the coburg senior citizens’ program. Last year, this was the hospice association.
